By now, most people know what it means when a “lid” is called on the president. In short, it means that with regard to President Joe Biden, there will be no further public appearances for the rest of a day.
We grew accustomed to Biden’s handlers calling early lids throughout his presidential campaign, with many in the media regularly joking that Biden liked to take naps and wasn’t energetic enough to finish out a full workday, unlike former President Donald Trump, who never seemed to have time for naps or sleep because he was always working.
According to the Washington Examiner, the White House called an especially early lid for the president today, which many said was odd given that it’s a non-holiday, Monday afternoon — typically a very busy time for the leader of the free world.
The call came just as White House press secretary Jen Psaki wrapped up the daily press briefing, in which she was bombarded with question about the growing border crisis even though she very much wanted to focus on the recently-passed COVID-19 relief package, referred to by the Biden administration as the “American Rescue Plan.”
Obviously, even the Biden-friendly mainstream media no longer have any interest in the ridiculous, $1.9 trillion waste of taxpayer money, as the crisis on the border received a new boost in media coverage Monday morning after a Texas lawmaker released photos showing the current conditions in which illegal migrant children and teens are being held.

The other hot topic of the day revolves around the burning question as to why the Biden administration refused to let media in to get a first-hand account of just how bad the conditions at the border facilities truly are.
The White House just called a lid at 1:13pm today. Biden is back in the basement, figuratively at least.
Meanwhile, the country is in chaos and the border is coming apart at the seams.

Former Trump White House press secretary and newly-minted Fox News contributor Kayleigh McEnany weighed in on the topic.
“This is becoming such a drumbeat, and I’ve got to imagine the only reason that they’re keeping press out and allowing this kind of narrative to set in is, because the conditions are bad, and they know it would enrage their progressive base,” McEnany said shortly after the lid was called.
She raises a valid point because if the Biden administration has nothing to hide about what they call a “challenge” at the border, the free press should be able to observe and decided for themselves whether it’s at a “crisis” level or not.
A number of other media pundits took shots at Biden for the early Monday lid, accusing him of using the tactic to avoid the inevitable firestorm of questions concerning the border crisis.
Only time will tell where this all ends up, but it should concern every single American that the leader of the United States is apparently too scared to face the tough questions that he must soon answer, given that it was his policies and rollback of Trump’s border policies that got us here in the first place.
