U.S. Middle District Judge Matthew Brann has dismissed a Trump campaign lawsuit seeking to invalidate millions of votes.
Brann ruled the Trump campaign presented “strained legal arguments without merit and speculative accusations” and stated that they were “unsupported by evidence.”
Brann wrote “In the United States of America, this cannot justify the disenfranchisement of a single voter, let alone all the voters of its sixth most populated state. Our people, laws, and institutions demand more.”
The lawsuit, filed earlier this month alleged that the state implemented an illegal “two-tiered” voting system in which voters were held to different standards depending on whether they voted in person or submitted their ballots by mail.
Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro, a Democrat had called the lawsuit “meritless.”
Brann was appointed by Obama and assumed office in 2012.
