During an address announcing that all Americans will be eligible for the coronavirus vaccine Biden altered his mask decree and said if you want your “independence” get your shot.
The President said that Americans will need to keep wearing masks “until the number of cases go down, until everyone has a change to get their shot.” He also said that the only way Americans will be able to celebrate their independence and gather with Americans is if they receive the vaccine.

Biden’s talk is tough however, he can’t force Americans to wear a mask, that is for local officials to decide. States like Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, and Florida have rescinded their mask order and cases are dropping or remaining the same.
The Biden Administration also announced that 130 countries (80 percent of the world) will be placed on the State Departments Level Four “Do Not Travel” list.
The State Department said the move does not imply a reassessment of current health situations in some countries, but rather “reflects an adjustment in the State Department’s Travel Advisory system to rely more on (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s) (CDC) existing epidemiological assessments.”
Most Americans were already prevented from traveling to much of Europe because of COVID-19 restrictions. Washington has barred nearly all non-U.S. citizens who have recently been in most of Europe, China, Brazil, Iran and South Africa.
The White House has given no timeline for when it might ease those restrictions.
However, the order contradicts their own CDC that says fully vaccinated people can travel safely and are at “low risk.”
A trade group representing major US airlines is asking the federal government “to transparently establish the criteria – including clear metrics, benchmarks, and a timeline – for reopening international markets.”
So far the Biden administration has failed to give any benchmarks or metrics on when they believe it is “safe” to lower restrictions.
