During an interview on Sunday with Maria Bartiromo Florida Governor Ron DeSantis eviscerated Joe Biden, the potential for more lockdowns and a travel ban, while defending the excellent results of his state’s fight against covid.
Bartiromo asked DeSantis what a travel ban would mean for the state of Florida. Florida has been the number one destination currently searched on the travel zoo website. What would a travel ban domestically mean for Florida?”
DeSantis wasted no time before going on the attack against any potential ban “Well, one, it would be unconstitutional, it would be a political attack against Florida,” he said. You look, Maria, the debate over schools.”
“Florida schools have been opened the whole school year. Every parent in Florida has the right to send their children to in-person instruction, every worker has a right to work and earn a living and every business has the right to operate and consequently, our state is doing very welcome paid to the other states in terms of education and economy.”
“But we also have 26 other states and the district of Colombia that have higher per capita cases than we do for the bulk to have pandemic,” DeSantis added. “You look right now, states that are held up by people in Biden’s administration like New York have way higher per capita patients hospitalized for Covid right now.”
“There’s no basis in medicine, there’s no basis in economics, there’s no basis in reality to do this except to punish a state that is doing it better than what his experts have recommended.”
DeSantis then really let Biden have it “Biden is a lockdowner and advisers are lockdowners. Lockdowns don’t work. We have demonstrated that. We are not turning back, Maria, and they would not be able to get away with targeting Florida.”

Rather than spending time attacking Florida’s governor for a job well done, the Democrats and their leftist media allies should instead be holding DeSantis’s approach up as a model for the rest of the country.
Not only is Florida mostly open for business but the state is doing a fantastic job on vaccine distribution.
DeSantis is prioritizing seniors, those most affected by covid, rather than a list of woke priorities, and that seems to be working rather well.
Again, the left would be wise to emulate the Florida governor’s approach. That is if they care more about the well being of their residents than they do about politics.
