The funniest thing happened at the silly last day of the dumb impeachment show trial. House Democrat impeachment managers tried a last-minute ploy to get more attention on themselves, and the Senate didn’t fall for it. Schumer and the Dems folded, Republicans got their way, and there will be no witnesses.
And then Twitter literally melted. I mean, there was a sticky goo where the left used to be. Total brain exploding.
You’ll have to excuse my using embedded tweets here, because this is WAY too funny to miss out on.
They’re calling for Schumer’s head.
We had an actual shot for the truth and for justice – and to make sure this doesn’t happen again – and Schumer folded. This is unthinkable and unforgivable. He must step down as leader.

It’s glorious everywhere.
Absolutely pathetic. The Raskin proposal was one hour Zoom depositions and document subpoenas. That should be the baseline for negotiations and Coons should resign to let someone who isn’t a complete coward serve his constituents. https://t.co/LxUvhtu4lc

Yup. Huge, huge cave.
Would’ve been better off not even raising the witness issue at all. https://t.co/g8AF409dKa

I cannot believe this – the Democrats are an embarrassment

I can’t for the life of me figure out why Senate dems would cave.

@HerreraBeutler put her life on the line to give Dems a win and they threw her to the wolves.
7 people died
140 Officers injured.
Shame on you all!
PS: How many Dem voters just walked away!https://t.co/2vqr0NMjxZ

.@SenSchumer we need you to resign, preferably before Trump announces his next presidential run.

Incredible to watch the party defenders, after a brief hour of shocked silence, immediately coalesce around the idea that caving to Republicans’ panicked shrieks about gridlock was tactically smart

This wasn’t about getting back to the Biden agenda.
This was about senators deciding they don’t want to call each other — or their Rep. counterparts — to testify under oath.
This was a gentleman’s agreement to save the dignity of people who clearly surrendered it long ago.

“A lot of the Senators’ cars are waiting to whisk them to the airport after the Senate vote.”
Lazy. They’re just lazy.
— David Atkins (@DavidOAtkins) February 13, 2021
Maybe the senators all had big plans for Valentine’s Day?
— Bud Hunt (@budtheteacher) February 13, 2021
This part right here is HILARIOUS, y’all.
I’m just disappointed

The filibuster could be removed if Schumer was a real leader. Don’t mansplain me.

Ha haaaaaaa. Mansplain!
This really funny too. Signed by Beth AND Natalie!

There was a lot more. Probably will be going on all day. If there’s anything funnier than the libs falling on each other like cannibals I haven’t found it yet.
