This is actually great news for America however, it is an indictment that the Biden Administration needs to change course on their policy.
For the first time since September Florida’s department of health reported that since January weekly death counts have declined and are back in the single digits.
Before we go any farther, we want to note that every death is awful and effects an entire family. We are not minimizing those that have sadly lost their lives, nobody asked for the coronavirus.
The last time Florida reported single-digit deaths was September 28, 2020 and there is hope that Florida’s vaccination program and herd immunity will continue to cause cases and deaths to drop.
Florida’s department of health reported 5,520 new cases of COVID-19 with about a 7.76% positivity rate. That rate is lower than Democrat run Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Michigan.
Governor Ron DeSantis has also lowered the threshold to allow anyone 18 or older to get the vaccine and at the same time signed an executive action prohibiting any type of vaccine passport. DeSantis is letting Floridians decide for themselves how they will mitigate the virus.
The UFC (mix martial arts organization) is set to host its first full capacity event in Jacksonville, Florida since March of last year. UFC 261 will feature three title fights and they intend to sell 15,000 tickets to event after local health officials approved the event.
“This is a stacked card in front of 15,000 UFC fans,” White said. “I just want to say thank you, Jacksonville. I love you guys, and we will see you soon.”
But Florida isn’t alone, recently the UFC announced that the third bout between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier will be in front of a full capacity crowd in Las Vegas, Nevada. Democrat Governor Steve Sisolak doesn’t seem to like the fact that they are losing money to Florida to host these big events and there has been no mention that fans will require a COVID passport to attend the event. It will be interesting to see if in the next few weeks Sisolak gets a call from the White House to intervene but the chances of Biden even knowing what the UFC is are pretty slim.
For the home opener 40,000 fans packed Globe Life Field for the Texas Rangers home opener and there was no super spreader event.
“We’re very confident we won’t be a super-spreader event,” said Neil Leibman, the Rangers’ CEO and president of business operations, said last month shortly after Gov. Greg Abbott lifted COVID-19 protections.. “With all the protocols that we’re following, we’ll be extremely responsible and provide a very comfortable environment for somebody to enjoy the game without worrying we’re going to be a spreader event.”
Meanwhile, vaccinated Biden officials continue to wear two masks and Fauci is still telling people not to go out to eat.
It’s time for the Biden administration to wake up and start putting in place policies that are working and do away with the ones that have failed.
