Gillian Blake of Crown Publishing Group told The New York Times they will no longer promote embattled Governor Andrew Cuomo’s book.
“Pending the ongoing investigation,” Blake said “we have paused active support of ‘American Crisis’ and have no plans to reprint or reissue in paperback.”
Cuomo is facing a nursing home scandal as well as 5 separate accusations of sexual harassment.
Sales of the book were already low but have continued to decline as Cuomo defends himself against a pair of scandals that threaten his political future. https://t.co/repmTPe6F3

Per the Washington Times “American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the Covid-19 Pandemic” was published in October by Crown, a division of Penguin Random House, as the pandemic continued to rage across the country. Mr. Cuomo was widely criticized for appearing to take a premature victory lap, but he repeatedly insisted his book was to provide a “blueprint for going forward.”
Crown had earlier praised the book as a “remarkable portrait of leadership during crisis” in a press release last summer.
